Fourth senior art show starts Saturday at St. Olaf College

NORTHFIELD, Minn. ? Eight art exhibits by St. Olaf College senior art majors will be featured in the fourth of five shows in the annual Festival of Senior Work starting Saturday, April 28, in Steensland Art Museum.

The show is free and open to the public, with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Steensland Art Museum is open Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m.; Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.; Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The fourth Festival of Senior Work show will feature the art of Sara DeSmet, Jaime Appling, Justin Hilden, Kusum Harchandrai, Elin Bugge, Katie Clymer, Leif Olson and Christopher Stark. Exhibits will include oil paintings, photographs, film animation and ceramic and bronze sculpture.

Each Festival of Senior Work exhibit is a culmination of four years of study and creative effort by St. Olaf College art majors, and is a requirement for graduation.

The Festival of Senior Work includes five shows ? one per week for five weeks. The final show date is May 6-10.
