NORTHFIELD, Minn. ? St. Olaf College?s student modern dance ensemble, Companydance, will present its annual spring concert Thursday through Saturday, May 3-5, at the college.

Each day?s concert will be at 8 p.m. in Kelsey Theater, in the Speech-Theater Building. The concerts are open to the public; tickets ($6) may be reserved by calling the St. Olaf College box office at (507) 646-8987.

The Companydance performance will include a wide variety of pieces, with works choreographed by guest artists, students and St. Olaf faculty members. Most pieces are the result of year-long projects involving nearly 50 students.

The concert will include the premiere of an interdisciplinary piece, "20 Jumps: A Tale of Love and Flight," by guest artist David Dorfman of New York, N.Y. The piece incorporates actors, musicians and dancers.

Also featured will be a piece by guest artist Linda Lehovec, "Wise Woman Speak Your Truth." Lehovec is a faculty member at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Companydance members will perform new and restaged works by each of the co-directors, Janice Roberts ("Portrait"), Anthony Roberts ("Lost") and Sheryl Saterstrom (four pieces ? "Black Dress, Waiting," "redredredredDress," "Being in White" and "Beautiful Red Dress"). St. Olaf faculty members Heather Klopchin and Saterstrom also will perform.

Two student dance major pieces will be performed: "Elusive Reality," by senior Erin Scheiwe, and junior Sarah Miller?s "And Swim to Freedom."
