Ole Women Beat St. Kate's

The Ole Women?s Basketball team defeated the St. Catherine Wildcats 75-62, putting the Ole?s MIAC standing at 4-5 and 6-6 overall. Liz Mundahl (So, Eagan, Minn.) scored a game high 14 points for the Oles. Mundahl connected on four of six shots from behind the arc and one more from the field. Elisa Hatlevig (Sr, Rushford, Minn.) was the team?s top rebounder rebounder, grabbing 19 boards, while Renae Bebler of St. Catherine's scored a game high 20 points.
The game opened with St. Catherine scoring quickly, but the Oles countered with a 10-2 run behind the shooting of Liz Mundahl, who scored eight points in the first half. The Oles closed the half at 38-27.
The margin narrowed in the second half, as the Wildcats came back within one at 52-51. Liz Mundahl rallied the Oles once again with a shot beyond the arc, and Lisa Eidenschink (So, Detroit Lakes, Minn.) added five more points, putting the Oles up 63-52. In the last three minutes of the game, Elisa Hatlevig scored five points, putting the Oles up 75-62.
The Oles shot 73% at the free throw line, going 15-20 behind Carrie Cooley (Jr, Villard, Minn.), Jill Johnson (FY, Butterfield, Minn.), and Elisa Hatlevig, who all scored five from the charity stripe.
The Oles play host to crosstown rival Carleton College in a doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 1:00 at Skoglund Athletic Center.
