Williams Leads Oles over the Knights

Hallie Williams (Sr., Fort ,Worth, Texas) recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds off the bench to propel the Oles to an 80-72 decision over Carleton. Mike Ludwig (So., Blaine, Minn.) had 21 points and Ryan Olson (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) added 11 points and five assists in the victory.
The win was the first at home over the Knights since the 1994-95 season. St. Olaf led by as many as 18 in the first half on the heels of superior play in the games second five minutes. Carleton led early, at 11-8, after Steve Nuessle hit a three with 16 minutes to play in the half. The Oles scored the next 19 points, including four three-pointers during the stretch, to take a commanding lead they would never relinquish.
Tim Nelson (So., Braham, Minn.) contributed 11 points for the Oles, who have now won three straight at Skoglund Athletic Center. Gunner Stapp?s 19 points led Carleton.
The Oles next contest is at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24 when they play host to fifth ranked Gustavus Adolphus College. The game is the second half of a basketball double header, with the women's game scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Both games are free of admission and can be heard on KDHL radio, 920 AM.
