Spriegel and Ryan earn first team Lutheran All-American Football Team honors

Manuel Spiegel (Jr., South St. Paul, Minn.) and Steve Ryan (Jr., South St. Paul, Minn.) were named to the Lutheran Brotherhood College All-American Football Team. Players from Lutheran schools from all divisions were eligible for consideration. Both Spriegel and Ryan were First Team selections.
Wide receiver, Steve Ryan (Jr., South St. Paul) caught 53 passes for 901 yards. He also had 8 rushes for 121 yards, a 14.6 average. Ryan had a total 102 yards of offense a game this past fall for the Oles. Ryan was earlier named 2000 MIAC Football Player of the Year.
Running back, Manuel Spriegel (Jr., South St. Paul) rushed for 1290 yards in 10 games. He also caught 17 passes for 130 yards. Spriegel returned punts (27 yds.) and kickoffs (277 yds.) for the team. He accounted for 173 yards of offense per game.
Junior, Jeff Flugum, (Apple Valley, Minn.) was named as an Honorable Mention selection for his offensive line play.
