German Advent service to be presented at St. Olaf College on Wednesday, Dec. 6

NORTHFIELD, Minn. ? St. Olaf College?s annual German Advent service, featuring a student-faculty choir performance, will be presented on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

The service, sponsored by the St. Olaf German Department, will be at 10:10 a.m. in Boe Memorial Chapel. It is free and open to the public.

The service will feature performances by a choir comprised of St. Olaf students and faculty members. The ensemble will be directed by St. Olaf juniors Leif Anderson of Menomonee, Wis., Albert Pinsonneault of St. Paul, Minn., and Nicolle Shaffer of Staples, Minn. Readings about German Christmas customs will be presented by German exchange students Christiane Knaup, Christine Hengsbach and Nadine Von Mallinckrotd. St. Olaf junior Jeffrey O?Donnell, Milwaukee, Wis., will accompany on organ, and St. Olaf junior Kara Kendall of Shoreview, Minn., will accompany on guitar.

An Advent and Nikolaus reception, sponsored by the St. Olaf German House and German Department, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Moen House, 1208 St. Olaf Avenue (the German House). The reception is free and open to the public.
