Blood Brothers audio interview

Performances for St. Olaf College's musical production "Blood Brothers" are Nov. 9, 10, 15, 16, and 17 at 7:30 p.m., and Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. in St. Olaf's Kelsey Theatre. Tickets are on sale now through the Theatre Department's box office at 507-786-8987.

Described as an "urban domestic tragedy," Blood Brothers is the story of Mrs. Johnstone, a poor single mother who gives up one of her newborn twin sons to the wealthy woman whose house she cleans. Despite growing up in different economic classes and unaware of their relation, the lives of Mrs. Johnstone's twins, Mickey and Edward, weave together as children, teenagers and adults with joyous and disastrous consequences.

Preparing for Blood Brothers posed a challenge to the cast of imbibing the emotions and personalities of their complex characters. Cast members Travis Chantar '09, Camryn Reynolds '09, Courtney Payne '11 and Peter Politis '11 spoke recently with Trent Chaffee '09 on how life experiences and research helped them connect with their characters.
