STOGROWcheck
St. Olaf's Bon Appetit honored the student-run STOGROW farm with a $3,000 check recently as part of Bon Appetit's 20th anniversary.
Last week Bon Appetit Management Company, the food service provider for St. Olaf College, presented a $3,000 check to the student-run STOGROW farm -- one of only five farms nationwide that received such recognition as part of Bon Appetit's 20th anniversary. The STOGROW farm, located just west of the St. Olaf campus, is a main provider of fresh produce to the kitchens at St. Olaf. Bon Appetit, with its ongoing "eat local challenge" program, has been a strong supporter of local farms across the nation.

Pictured with the check are (l-r) Bon Appetit Regional Manager Mark LaChance; St. Olaf students Rob Smith '10, Kristin Johnson '10 and Dayna Burtness '07; Peter Abrahamson, executive chef at St. Olaf; and Katie McKenna, general manager of Bon Appetit at St. Olaf. At the end of this year student managers Burtness (one of the founders of the farm) and Andrew Moe '08 will turn the farm over to Smith, Johnson and Olivia Bailey '10.
