Hofrenning comments on Gov. Pawlenty's political prospects
May 30, 2007
In response to increased speculation over Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty's becoming a republican vice presidential candidate, St. Olaf Associate Professor of Political Science Dan Hofrenning told the Star Tribune that a combination of the governor's "persona as a social and fiscal conservative with personal charisma" should keep him in the running. Hofrenning goes on to attribute Pawlenty's success, in part, to his ability to compromise on certain conservative issues. "He's serious, but not a zealot," Hofrenning says.
