March 15, 2007

Buntrock Commons, 144 3:30 p.m.

Bruce Nordstrom-Loeb (Sociology/Anthropology) will present, "What's the Fuss about Same-Sex Couples? Perspectives from the Social Sciences."

This lecture is one of four events in a new series of lectures and panel discussions titled "New Thinking about Sex and Love in Religion and Society: Perspectives from the Social Sciences and Religious Studies on the Rights and dignity of Gay People." The series is sponsored by the following groups: SOLGEN (St. Olaf Lesbian and Gay Employee Network), GLOW (Gay, Lesbian or Whatever student organization) and allies of SOLGEN and GLOW.

These and other organizations on campus are working toward the establishment of a Gender and Sexuality Center at St. Olaf. This series of lectures and panel discussions can be viewed as some of the first events of a future Gender and Sexuality Center, which they hope will soon become a reality.
