Prof. James Hanson examines Jesus' 'lost tomb'

By Amy Gage
March 4, 2007

When a big-name Hollywood director produces a Discovery Channel documentary called The Lost Tomb of Jesus (which premiered March 4), both secular society and scholars of religious thought are going to take notice. Associate Professor of Religion James Hanson is among those paying close attention to Titanic director James Cameron's story of the discovery in 1980 of a tomb believed by many to be that of Jesus. "I don't think it's a complete publicity stunt," he recently told the "Faith and Values" section of the Minneapolis-based Star Tribune.

In addition to the Star Tribune link, below, Hanson also was quoted in the Rochester Post-Bulletin.
