St. Olaf Choir adds authenticity to 'Peer Gynt'
March 16, 2007
The St. Olaf Choir, along side the Minnesota Orchestra, has brought a performance of the complete score of Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt to Minneapolis' Orchestra Hall. Following the opening-day performance on Thursday, March 15, a Star Tribune review praised the choir, which sings in idiomatic Norwegian, for adding authenticity to the performance. Ole Doug Scholz-Carlson '90, in the title role, also is lauded for his performance as the cocky, yet charming, antihero. The choir will deliver two more performances at Orchestra Hall, on Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 17, both at 8 p.m.
