St. Olaf Professor of Music and Department Chair Dan Dressen plays Grampa Joad in the Minnesota Opera's adaptation of the famous John Steinbeck novel, The Grapes of Wrath, which made its world premiere at the Ordway Center in St. Paul Feb. 10. "What Minnesota Opera has come up with is a splendid, almost perfect production of an opera that is smart, funny, touching and harrowing, in all the right places..." writes Star Tribune critic Michael Anthony of the lavish $1.8 million production.
