Regent encourages faith-based values in business
December 20, 2006
Bruce Nicholson '68, chairman, president and CEO of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and member of the St. Olaf Board of Regents, imparts some advice about incorporating faith-based values into daily business practices. In a recent article in the business forum of the Star Tribune Nicholson says that religious values and business success are not mutually exclusive. He recommends stewardship, honesty, giving back and fair play when making business decisions. Although Nicholson recognizes that religion in the workplace "must never coerce of discriminate," he adds "faith-based values can and should be part of our business considerations."
