Brian Sprout '02 and Charlie Ruud '04, both former Ole baseball players, have gone from St. Olaf to St. Paul, having made the switch to Division III ball. Ruud and Sprout, the only Oles currently in professional baseball, are teammates once again, this time on roster of the St. Paul Saints.

The Saints couldn't be more pleased with their Ole contingency, with Sprout batting a team-high .359 with six homers and 32 RBI and Ruud leading the pitching staff with 47 strikeouts. St. Olaf baseball coach Matt McDonald, who coached both Ruud and Sprout, told the Star Tribune he also was impressed with his former players' performances. "They've really played well," he said. "We're proud of them."
