Faculty and Alumni to perform in Islamic dance program

Anne von Bibra, assistant professor of dance, will be dancing in an upcoming show called "Beyond the Crescent Moon." The performance, by Ethnic Dance Theatre, will take place Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 4 at 2 p.m. at E. M. Pearson Auditorium on the Concordia College campus in St. Paul, Minn., and features dance and music from Islamic cultures. Among the countries represented in the dances are Albania, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tadjikistan, Turkey, Tunisia and Uzbekistan.
Several alumni of the St. Olaf dance program also are performing, including Kjersti Sletten '03, Emily Judd '03, Ben Hyde '05 and Laura Conger '05. Mary Shamrock '58, a graduate of the music department and former co-instructor of the Indonesian music Interim, will be one of the guest musicians.
