Alumna runs every Alaskan marathon

Jane Lanford '77 has made it her goal to run every marathon in the state of Alaska. Since 2000, Lanford, who lives in Fairbanks, has run all nine marathons held in Alaska, from Juneau to the Yukon Territory and everywhere in between. "I couldn't afford to take the time and money to go to all 50 states," she told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. "I wanted something more doable."

Most recently, Lanford finished the Mayo Midnight Marathon, and over the course of her 25-year running career has run 42 marathons in eight states and three countries.
