McKelvey receives Hilleboe Award for student life involvement
June 22, 2005
The St. Olaf Division of Student Life has announced that Associate Dean of Students and Associate Professor of Mathematics Steve McKelvey is this year's recipient of the Gertrude Hilleboe Award for Faculty Involvement in Student Life at the college.
The award honors Hilleboe's commitment to students during her more than 40 years of service as a faculty member and dean of women. She was well known for her care for all students she worked with and her devotion to the St. Olaf community.
McKelvey was nominated for his success in acting as "a role model for his faculty colleagues in his support of the out-of-class experience of students." His name will be added to a plaque in the Dean of Students Office that includes the names of all recipients of the award.
