Chang Dao Vang serves as the First-Year Class Dean in the Dean of Students Office. Chang Dao has worked towards education equity and sustainability in multiple systems, including K-12, higher education and his local community. He worked 10 years with the MN Office of Higher Education: Get Ready Program, served on the Youth & Family Committee for the Ramsey County Equity Action Circles, translated health and social justice content into Hmong for the Southeast Asian Diaspora Project and most recently served as the Director of TRIO Student Support Services for Students with Disabilities here at St. Olaf. Chang Dao is a St. Olaf and TRIO Student Support Services alumni who majored in Social Work. He maintained his connections as a member of the St. Olaf’s Social Work Program Advisory Committee for the past 10 years.  In 2015, he obtained his Master’s of Social Work with a specialization in Community Practice from the University of MN: Twin Cities. Chang Dao is a Hmong refugee from Thailand, but calls the Twin Cities home.  He is married to a fellow Ole and has three boys who help keep him young.
