Mbele to speak on Harlem Renaissance

As part of the college's celebration of Black History Month, St. Olaf Associate Professor of English Joseph Mbele will present a lecture on the Harlem Renaissance, a major landmark in the history of African-American culture and literature. Professor Mbele will highlight the event's global connections as he draws from the inspiring lives and works of notable figures of the Renaissance such as Claude McKay, Zora Neale Hurston and Langston Hughes. His 30-minute lecture will be followed by a discussion. Open to the public.
