Many of you attended the Fall Conference at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN last September and found out about this event held this past summer, June 18-28. For those who missed that presentation or would like to re-visit some of the features of the event and make plans to attend in June 2019, you can find an overview of PQ2015 HERE!
PQ2015: Shared Space: Music, Weather and Politics
June 2015
Held once every four years in Prague, Czech Republic, the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space is the world's largest performance design event – a presentation of contemporary work in a variety of performance design disciplines and genres including costume, stage, lighting, sound design, and theatre architecture for dance, opera, drama, site-specific, multi-media performances, and performance art. I was fortunate to be part of the 11 days in 2015. The link above documents the various parts of the PQ event in 2015, as well as images of Prague.
Founded in 1967, the Prague Quadrennial has presented work from 78 countries on 5 continents. The exhibition draws thousands of performance and theatre professionals, students, and spectators from all over the world. At the Quadrennial in 2015, over 6,000 accredited professionals from 90 countries came to enjoy installations, photos, videos, and live performances of work ranging between theatre and visual arts, as well as more than 500 events, workshops, performances, presentations, lectures, and discussions. Visit the PQ2015 website for more details about the event last June.
