Summer Symposium in Real Analysis XXXVII
"The Sugar Cane Symposium"
The Thirty-Seventh Summer Symposium in Real Analysis (The Sugar Cane Symposium) was hosted by the Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e de Computaçao and the Real Analysis Exchange , June 3-6, 2013. The Editorial Board of the EXCHANGE wishes to express its gratitude to the administration, faculty and staff of Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e de Computaçao and to the Organizing Committee for their gracious hospitality and good planning. The Organizing Committee consisted of Everaldo Bonotto, Ma To Fu, Márcia Federson, Matheus Bortolan, Rafael Marques, Rodolfo Collegari, Sergio Luis Zan, and Valdir Menegatto. Specifically we'd like to thank out the conference director and local organizer, Márcia Federson, for her outstanding leadership in organizing and conducting this symposium. Márcia's tireless attention to detail was critical to creating the intellectually stimulating environment of the conference. Thank you!
In addition to the formal mathematical program, time was set aside for research collaboration. On Wednesday afternoon, the symposium participants travelled to a local nature center for hiking, a traditional frisbee game and a wonderful traditional Brazilian Barbecue.
This year's "ANDY'' was awarded to a slightly under the weather, but shocked Tepper Gill . Congratulations, Tepper!
The conference featured invited one-hour plenary addresses by:as well as thirty contributed talks. Following the participant list is the program of the Symposium, and then the summaries of the talks. The editorial board of the EXCHANGE wishes to thank the speakers for preparing these summaries.
