St. Olaf Christmas Festival Special Program

On the first full weekend in December each year, more than 10,000 people come to Minnesota, the home of Sing For Joy, to experience traditional Scandinavian meals, atmosphere and fellowship — and to attend the St. Olaf Christmas Festival concerts.

Each year, Sing For Joy is proud to present a special radio presentation of the festival. For many thousands, the annual broadcast of the festival on radio stations across the U.S. has become a part of their Christmas observance.

The festival features splendid music of the season, performed by the St. Olaf Choir, the Chapel Choir, the Manitou Singers, the Cantorei, the Viking Chorus and the St. Olaf Orchestra, separately and as a massed ensemble. In all, more than 400 student musicians take part.

Our Hope for Years to Come is the theme of this year's presentation, recorded in December of 2024 at Skoglund Center Auditorium on the campus of St. Olaf College. Artistic Director of the Festival is Dr. Anton Armstrong, conductor of the St. Olaf Choir. Sing For Joy host Alexandra Jacob is narrator for this radio broadcast.
